Terms of use
These terms explain what Lightfathom does, what it doesn’t, and what we promise. We’ve tried to write them in plain English.
1. What Lightfathom is
Lightfathom is a search and research tool. We search public trademark registers, domain records, social platforms and app stores for names close to the one you give us, and we explain what we found.
Lightfathom is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. A report shows what we found in public sources on the date of the search. It is not an opinion on whether you can register or use a name, and it does not create a lawyer-client relationship. Please have a trademark lawyer review your report before you file or launch.
2. What a report can and can’t tell you
- Registers change every day. A report reflects the date it was made.
- Some rights don’t appear in registers at all, such as unregistered use, and some new filings aren’t published yet.
- We cover the five registers and other sources listed in each report, not every register in the world.
- If a source doesn’t respond, we mark it “Couldn’t check”. We never present it as clear.
3. Plans and prices
Prices are shown in US dollars on our home page: the Free Check (free), the Name Report (US$79 per name) and the Agency Pack (US$590 for 10 reports). Name Watch is still being built and has no price yet. Paid plans are not open yet; nothing is charged by joining the waitlist.
4. Delivery and refunds
We deliver a Name Report within 24 hours of your order. If your report arrives late, or we got something wrong, tell us within 7 days of delivery and we’ll refund you in full. No forms, no back-and-forth.
Name Watch can be cancelled at any time; it stops at the end of the current month.
5. Your inputs
You keep all rights to your name ideas. You let us use them only to run your check and deliver your results. We delete your inputs 30 days after delivery, as described in our privacy notice.
6. Fair use
Please use Lightfathom for your own naming work or, with the Agency Pack, for your clients’ naming work. Don’t use it to resell bulk register data or to overload the public services we rely on.
7. Responsibility
We take care to make every report accurate and clear, and we stand behind it with the refund above. Because a report is a preliminary search and not legal advice, decisions about filing, launching or using a name remain yours and your lawyer’s.
8. Who runs Lightfathom
Lightfathom is a brand operated by 106 Enterprises Ltda, a company registered in Brazil (CNPJ 49.059.143/0001-68), R. Bernardo Guimarães 2717, sala 703, Santo Agostinho, Belo Horizonte, MG, 30140-085, Brazil. When paid plans open, receipts and refunds will be issued by this company.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, and disputes go to the courts of Belo Horizonte, MG. If you are a consumer, nothing here takes away the rights the consumer laws of your own country give you.
